Brief answers to the seven questions that have been asked repeatedly :-).

 1. What gear did you use?

Camera body: Canon Eos Rebel.
Lenses: Canon EF 135mm f2.8 and Canon EF 50mm f1.8.

Occassionally (at Belfast to be exact): digital Sony DSC-S85 (pictures taken with this awkward device are marked as such in the comments.)

 2. What about settings?

With 135mm lens, mostly wide open (at f2.8), sometimes stopped down a little bit. To hell with depth of field, blurred backgrounds rule :-). Most of the time, there was enough light to freeze (quite mercurial) Thom Yorke in motion (shutter speeds from 1/125 and faster).

With 50mm lens, most often stopped down to about f4.0.

With digital: if you were at the Belfast show, you wouldn't ask. I don't know. I was being killed while shooting.

 3. And film?

Fuji Superia 800, Kodak Portra 800, and one lil roll of black and white Kodak T400CN.

 4. Why mostly Thom? Where the hell are Jonny, Colin, Phil and ED O'BRIEN?

While I readily admit that Thom is the ultimate lens magnet, there were tecnhical difficulties that almost completely prevented me from shooting the rest of the band :-(. Standing in a second row center at a GA Radiohead show, holding camera with 135mm lens and trying to hide from security gives you about 4 seconds to lift the camera, aim, focus, adjust settings and shoot. This also explains the lack of variety in picture composition.

And there is a picture of Ed. A nice one, too ;-).

 5. Are you a professional photographer?

No. I'm embarassingly fresh. This is my first more or less conscious attempt at concert photography.

 6. Can I get prints?

Yes. The best way to do it is to email me and request uncompressed scans. You can then put them on CD and head over to the nearest digital photo machine. Such devices are usually located at/around big photo processing stations. I believe you can order prints from digital files online as well. I'm sorry, I cannot send you prints from real negatives - costs do add up :-(.

 7. Can I put the pictures on my site?

Yes, but if you do, please don't forget three little magic things: email me to request permission, link back, retain copyright. Thankyous :-)

That's all!

Didn't find the answer? Have comments? Email me! Takk :-).
